In addition to being a prolific writer, Ashbeck is a No Kill advocate who is actively involved with organizations dedicated to preserving the lives of companion animals. As an advisor to Wisconsin Voters for Companion Animals, Ashbeck speaks out against breed specific legislation in civic meetings held throughout her home state. Ashbeck is the proud mother of three adult children and the exuberant grandmother of four. Her extended family also includes three dogs, a community cat and too many fish to count.
